Happy Labor Day!

The harbinger of the most wonderful time of the year!

I've got to work all day :( What's everyone else doing?

I started thinking about past Labor Days and remembered the big parade in Detroit where I grew up. I think it was sponsered by the various unions around the city (think automobile manufacturing). I know that after the parade there were speeches by politicians and union representatives and the President of the United States was always there (think votes). I don't know whether or not they still have the parade but unfortunately we still have politicians.

Autumn is my favorite time of year also. I love the smell of burning leaves but can only experience that odor in my memories as you can't burn leaves anymore (I wonder what causes more pollution: burning leaves or car emissions?)

Autumn is a time of new beginnings. My Dad always said that New Year's should be in September rather than January. If you are Jewish than you got it right.

Autumn is a time to drink fresh apple cider and go to football games. It doesn't matter if you don't like either one, it's tradition!

Autumn is a time to walk in the park and let the leaves crunch under your feet. It hides the dog poop.

I've rambled on enough about Autumn and Labor Day. I'm sorry you have to work. Really, really sorry.
